Most modern implants last 15–20 years, depending on the patient’s age and level of activity.

How soon can I walk after surgery?

Many patients begin walking with assistance within 24–48 hours post-surgery

What is the recovery timeline?

Knee replacement: 8-12 months. Hip replacement: 6-8 months. Full recovery is dependent on patient specific factors.

Complex Trauma Surgery

What counts as complex trauma?

High velocity, comminuted, open and peri-articular fractures. As well as the poly traumitised patient with multiple fractures.

How long does fracture healing take?

Simple fractures: 8 weeks. Complex fractures: up to 6 months.

No it does not. Many conditions are managed conservatively. This management strategy includes lifestyle adjustments, rest, medications, referral to allied health professionals. (Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy, dietician, Bio)
